Mr.
Erickson has over 35 years of experience
representing public agencies. He has
served as counsel to well over 25 different
public agencies, including the cities
of Cypress, Lynwood, Irvine and Yorba
Linda. He has also served as general
counsel to the Orange County Water District.
Between 1969 and 1974 he taught the land
use classes at UCLA’s School of
Law. He has several reported appellate
court decisions to his credit, most of
which concern public agencies. Mr. Erickson
presently serves of counsel to the law
firm of Gutierrez & Vera, LLP, specializing
in land use, water, and environmental
issues. He was formerly a partner for
over 29 years with the law firms of Rutan & Tucker
and Nossaman, Guthner, Knox & Elliott,
and was managing partner at the latter
firm.
Mr. Erickson graduated from the University of Mississippi Law
School in 1958, and received a Bachelor of Arts from Redlands
University in 1954. He also has a Masters in Law degree from
the University of Southern California, and was Adjunct Professor
of Law at UCLA’s School of Law where he taught Urban Planning
and the Law.
